Veterans and National Defense
The most important role of our federal government is the national defense and security of our country. We must do all that we can to ensure that our armed forces continue to be the greatest on the planet. As advanced and powerful as our military is, it is extremely important that we don’t misuse them or forget their intended use.
Our armed forces are made possible by the men and women that volunteer to serve and defend our nation. We must do all that we can to support them and their mission. This involves making sure they are well equipped, well trained and operate with sufficient numbers.
The people of our military put in tireless hours and risk life and limb, affecting not just themselves but also their families. This sacrifice needs to be honored, not just when they are in the battlefield, but also when they are at home. Our support of these great soldiers should always be first rate, not just while they are serving but also when they retire.
My family has proudly served in the military for three generations, as have many of my good friends. I have an absolute respect for all of our armed forces and a never-ending appreciation for their service. Above all else, I will do all that I can to support our military and the men and women that serve our great nation.

Respecting our Warriors
The wars over the years have taken a toll on our military members. We are seeing more and more warriors return with limbs missing, severe burns, and mental problems from experiencing what must truly be Hell on earth. We can not and will not turn our backs on them. It is inexcusable to ignore their needs while wasting billions on Cash for Clunkers, bailouts for the big corporations, bridges to nowhere and money spent on the ridiculous “pork” projects. Our military, active duty, retired and our injured veterans will be taken care of before anything else.
I will fight to see that they get the respect they deserve.
